Red Shoes Project
The concert programme highlights female voices and perspectives across several centuries. The programme includes the world premiere of a cantata by Antonio Caldara, supplemented by Georg Friedrich Handel’s dramatic cantata “Lucrezia”. These works enter into a dialogue with music from women composers from the Baroque to the present day – from Antonia Bembo to contemporary composers Cecilia McDowall and Águeda Macias.
